Silence…
On what is silence spent?
For us it’s to display contempt
Or is it just a fear to move
To lose the lead or give into

The one who lights the candle more
The one first willing to open the door
For the memories atop the mantle
Hoping to find their fire substantial

Open hearts, become the start
But open wounds, become doors closing
Shattered glass upon the floor
I feel you leaving more

Empty glasses, not dinner plates
Another night, the same mistakes
Is this our love's only fate?
We’re flying high, then falling

The cost of kinds, we do not mind
Addicted to what we put us through
Need and desire, love, lust and hate
Jealousy the puppet for what we won’t face

And lost in stride to stubborn pride
We both insist on staying
Instead of stuck in the same old dance
We should let the song stop playing!

This is a tough spot to be stuck in, but you captured it rather nicely on paper. Best of luck, and write on.
