In All Your Expectations

If you could see me now, what would you think?
I stink
In all your expectations.
If you could see me now, would you pour me a drink?
And ask what’s on my mind.
Alice curious as to what is the me you see.
If you could see me now, hold me now,
Gratitude I would be, when morning comes to thee.
But these dreams that never come to be, simply haunt,
The hours of days and endless nights.
If you could see me now, what would you dictate?
Dial emergency 888
Till white men arrive at the gate.
Armed with straight jackets all tailored and white.
I’ll scream out my pain, I’ll spit out my spite.
Until finally they give in,
And let me go home,
To the throne.
If you could see me now,
What would you see, would it be me?
Sitting here, in the chair, by the fire, too drunken to care.
What it is, you would think,
I stink
In all your expectations.
