Why Would You Want Me?
Why would you want me?
Who would I ask?
Want this emotional car wreck,
That I can now see.
With my neurotic fears,
And endless self-pitying tears.
Addictions by the truck-load,
And no real enlightenment in years.
Leave it all behind.
I would too, if only I could.
It is easier to walk away,
Than to love this and stay.
I overreact making big dramas,
I’m jealous and mean.
And afraid to be seen.
In case you will see and leave.
Then you did anyway.
And all I can say,
Is, I understand why,
You could no longer try.
To climb my mountains of defence.
Hold my depressive countenance.
To keep telling me everything will be alright.
As you hold me through the night.
Just give it up and walk away
It really will be easier that way
I won’t be sad, instead just glad
That one of us got away.
