Black Coffee
Crossroad blues
Laughing man
Black and red grin
Seashell eyes
“Slip the noose!”
He laughs at me
All roads lead to the
Horizon

Dancing daughter
Swirls skirts
White on Black
Rain howls at me
Knife hand smiles
“Drink deep!”
She sings to me
All rivers run to the
Sea

Wine in the jug
Old man shelters
Neath palm leaves
Ancient smile
Eyes like promise
“You’ll see!”
He confides in me
All fires burn to
Ash

Whitewashed cross
Silent stand among
Black stones writ
Those who’ve come
And gone away
“You’ve come home!”
He greets me
All children return to
Mother

When the walk is done

This gave me the Chills. Like having deja vu about something you know you have never seen before.

makes the hea[r]t feel as straw; brittle; stuffed in; claustrophobic. . .this cadence of yours is so staccato, so surreal, stop.stilled framework of sometimes nothing but bones. .. . i love it. . .. i jsut cant describe it effectively

Always so staccato. But always breath taking. I think you're one of my favorite writers, for the record. What happened to Courtney's Poem?

I've been unwell, didn't want to write about you while I was feeling poorly. I'll get to it.

Great flow. I've always liked your work, but this one takes my breath.

Ok I haven't studied this enough to really understand it but I love the sound the images and especially the quotes in each stanza!
