We emerge from the dark
to find the light sickening
and painful to the eyes

we surface from the bottom
and smell the disgusting air
do you hear the innocent cry?

i don't think I've gotten my point across
without the dark there'd be no light
or maybe I'm lost
with out the pain the pleasure would be obsolete
how can i put together two opposite worlds as i see them
working together in harmony
maybe i don't even understand

I don't think I've gotten my point across
but i've found sancuary in the dark site
i've found some light
not a second wasted
except those millions of words written
on poetry.com.
Pull on the pain, the blood stained sheets,
bring forth the trembling and the cries
raise the fist and SCREAM
this may be it
this might be may be my finally stand.

I kinda get it, kinda don't. It's one of those poems that the writer understands better than anyone... or one the writer themselves doesn't understand at all. Get what I mean?

honestly I don’t think poetry is meant to be understood. Or maybe it meant to be understood in a thousand different ways. What one person gets from it, another might not. Anyways this poem spoke to me... And yes there is light in this darkness... in this

And yes there is light in this darkness... in this world there still are innocent and free children. ~gothic~
