scroll through the names
of wasted lives and find the
same demented mindset
the same old death rattle I've been hearing for years
the same goddamn tears

in every nick name there's no hint of optimisim,
so suggestion to a brighter future,
but arms still reaching in twitches
for some hope.

the generation destroyed
the bombs, the kamakazis,
the nazi-capitalist in make-up
on the tv screen
lying and bombing

crying then dying

any reader, give an answer,
try a solution
start a revolution

i would if i only could
free myself
i'm caught in first gear
life is the head lights sometimes, and i'm the deer.

scribble out a few lines
sometimes my mind just locks up
shuts down tucks it's tail between it's legs
and turns away
but only while my soul sleeps

the alarm clock keeps beeping
and i'm trying to get back up

i just can't do it today
but i can grab that goddamn cord
and jerk it out of the fucking outlet
so the silence can cloak me
and float me back to my dreams!

Very Nice, not quite what I thought it was going to be about, but then again that is why they say don't judge a book by its cover!

I think it was pretty good. It wasn't really dark in a sense. It was more of what most people think (atleast I think that way) then anything especially morbid.

No, dark does not necessarilly mean sad. And dark does not mean pessimistic. It means many things, and people here write what they feel. I rather enjoy this piece. Good write.

I don't think the lives are wasted, there are plenty of talented writers here and i find the first part of this poem somewhat offenseive, but that's your opinion and you're entilted to it
