There they were
Captured by imagination
Struggling among the chaos
That encircled them
Monsters scurry in the background
Dancing around raging fires
Yet two remain oblivious
To this wretched torment
Their spirits entwined
Dancing lightly, gently, teasingly
Like streams of silk
In front of an open window
Their laughter spiraled upward
Into black, boiling, swirling clouds
Eventually giving way
To lunar tranquility
The brilliant light
Casts shadows from the dead trees below
Spawning an ominous presence
That poured over and surrounded them
“Turn away or forever be captured
In my nocturnal spell
For I am the deceiver of the night
And when the tragic sun rises
I will fade away to nothing
Leaving you empty inside”
