Regretfully I’ve been here before

Begging at my own front door,

Pleading with the night to simply let me go

And honey? Why’s it so damned hard to know?

The day looming like a cruel joke on my mind

Sanity fading, my demise carefully timed,

Can’t sit here and watch as the blood trickles free

I need to be woken, and angel to come and save me.

The horse ran away, a whisper in his throat

Beat me to secrecy and murdered all my hope,

The rider lay dead, dragging on the ground

And my own rotten remains were simply never found.

The soldiers took the war, battled to their bloody death

I fought alongside satan, cursed God with a single breath,

And when my hands were empty with fear, my dreams on the ground at my feet

I had no choice but to surrender, to cry aloud in malicious defeat.

So sit there and crucify me, string my body to your cross

I won’t die for your sins, but I’ll cry for the needless loss,

I won’t beg you to free me, or to know that your love lives on

But prayer in dying hours, that you’ll miss me when I’m gone.

I enjoyed the crucifiction part. And i like the onject of despair, of praying to god, being unanswered, and turning to soemthing else.
