Beauty is an interesting thing,
Elusive
At a glance
And
Appreciated
At a distance
Beauty and I
Are a world apart.
But she speaks to me,
Listens to me
Loves me
And I love her.
She walks the world when,
Perhaps,
A pair of wings would suit her better.
She sees something in me that I can’t explain,
But I trust her.
She lifts my spirit and takes it to the clouds
Every night, and every morning I awake
Alone.
She is
Elusive,
And at such a distance
Difficult to grasp,
But I’m doing my best
I’m doing my best
To spread my wings, blackened by my past
And let her
See what light there is left in me
As dim as it might be
Maybe one day we will walk the world together
Hand in hand
Love
In love
Until we earn our wings
And find our place in the heaven.
