Where were you when the sky fell down on me?
Where were you when I ran away?
You said to me you’d be here for me
Then you turned around, and walked away

What happened to way it used to be
When I would see you smile?
Those times now are just a memory
So here I am, a thousand miles away

You’re here, but just a memory
I hear your voice, and it’s the sound of heartbreak
The sound of heartbreak

What happened to the girl you used to be
So full of love, now gone away
Where are you, are you doing okay?
Do you need me there, or should I stay away?

Are you in the arms of another?
Are you still thinking of me?
Or are you in blissful ignorance
Of the pain I feel every day?

You’re here, but just a memory
I hear your voice, it’s the sound of heartbreak
The sound of heartbreak

I see you there
I see you with him,
Just as I saw you
When you were with me

I see you with him
You look so happy
Just as you did
When you were without me

Beautifully worded. I can picture this being a great song. An experience I can relate to all too well. *Salutes*

wow, rip my heart out and step on it why don't you. this was heart wrenchingly beautiful. the last line was a great way of pulling together the realization that you can't always be the one to make someone happy and sometimes letting them go is best. this was very good. *cheers* ~ta
