I wouldn't have recognized it if I'd tried;
a little light in the eye of a starry tempest.
So many miles away,
but bright enough to burn my pale skin.

I couldn't help but reach for it,
my fingers sizzling with each crossing inch,
but this awakening told me--
I couldn't pull away.
I'd never known such clarity.

And as blazing revelation
stripped me of my ignorance and inhibitions,
I stood cured of clouded propaganda.

As my heart burned, the misconception
crumbled like ash to my feet,
and for a moment I was in Nirvana
before I went up in flames.

This blazed and shone with perfection. A spot-on piece that, once again, shows just what a talent you are. I could only dream of being able to write poetry like this at 17. Love it =) -Carl

This is really very good. I do, however, question the relativity 'ignorance and inhibitions'.

They're quite relative. Ignorance: We're all ignorant to a greater state of being. Enlightenment is something none of us strive for. We would rather climb the competitive ladder.

Inhibitions: Letting go of what we don't need and embracing what truly makes one complete seems to be scary, and a great challenge for everyone.

"As my heart burned, the misconception crumbled like ash to my feet," a poetic perception of the sun as if were a god. Blazing vividness...

Innocence lost? Cruel irony?...some force that sees beauty as sin? Nice interweaving of philosophies and symbolism.
