i weave across the sidewalk
in my brand new blades i skate
my speed is getting faster
skipping over cracks and breaks.
i look over my shoulder
and look back down to my fate
the concretes getting closer
and i shift to stop and wait.
but falling i continue
and my hands reach toward the ground
i close my eyes so helpless
and my lips let a sound.
but midst the dreaded falling
i awake from such a dream
and there he lies beside me
he caught me, it seems.
