Did you ever hear a heart break?
It's not as loud as you thought it might be
It breaks ever so silently that no one hears it but you
(and you suffer alone)

It's just a soft "crash" behind your ears
that makes your head spin
as if you're on a carousel with speed x 3

when you hear it, you'll know
because the pain takes your breath away
as shards of red cut you from inside out
and you start to bleed

it's unfair isn't it?
that the one who broke it will never hear
the shattering pieces of your broken heart
as they fall on the ground,
being stepped on by whoever passes by.

they should hear it, you know
share with them
the nightmares that they cause
the misery that you face
the tears you try to fight back
so many times

....and in the end
you lose, as always.

*sigh* I wrote a poem sort of like this...something titled "...Amazing, Isn't It?..." or something like that. I love this idea...portraying that which can't always be portrayed by mere words alone. Excellent job. ~*Beth*~
