.

it's the stars that
deceive me to thinking
that tomorrow will be
different. that somehow
their twinkle will
tell the world to shift
even a little bit.

sometimes i hear them
laughing if i listen hard
enough, a chorus in the sky.
i wish they had more
use than being there,
being beautiful,
sitting pretty till they
fall off one by one,
the beauties that heaven bled.
they hold the secrets,
the wishes, the desperation
of the souls beneath them.

i've abandoned my tears
long ago, when i wished
on the first star i saw.
i took a chance on hope,
and was left to fail once again.
so i couldn't, wouldn't
kiss and tell to the stars.
