there you are.
laying on your bed,
sleeping soundly to the rhythm
of my heart.
when you closed your eyes, baby,
i knew of dreams, of things that
could've been and would be
because of you and that silly grin
you wear to torture me every single day.
your voice in the morning,
and the uprising sun open my eyes
to see a smile.
the smile that captured my breaths,
and blew me away.
just like that, baby.

there you are,
hundreds of miles away.
who knows what you're dreaming of
as i listen quietly..
i know too well the sounds you make
when you're sleeping.
i'm just longing for your touch so much.

because i am here,
writing this,
and sleep isn't knocking
on my door at all
and all i could think of is
you and how far you are
and how easily love can come your way.

but dammit, there you are,
and here i am...
and i could love nobody else.
