she always wished to wake up
to yesterday
and see her life unfold
the same old way
again and again

she feared the unfamiliar
and found comfort in the common
but that's just her.
hmmm.. typical her.

but one sunshine's ascent she woke up
and found half of the bed all made
with a note on top of the covers,
she knew she had to face tomorrow

tear ducts and eyelashes
work their magic like storms
on a once calm sea

"it's deafening,
listening to yourself weep,"
she said.
"but the echoes cut deep
as they slash their way
into you core
and you feel like dying
when you can actually hear
your eardrums shattering".

he left her that morning
with not even a whisper

but at least he had the decency
to make his side of the bed.
