She was a lovely lace
sewed with words
both deep and meaningless

covered with violets
and rose buds,
veiled with shards of glass
and cigarette burns

the wind would sway her
and the words would
sort themselves out,
sometimes frivolously
and sometimes eloquently

"wants see to everyone
what from she hides
eyes her to see she"

or

"she hides her eyes
from everyone to see
what she wants to see"

she is a rent rag

and she would still
sway forever with the wind.
