I watch you drift off to
dreams in the bedroom
and the lamp light
was the only star
that made me see
your face in the dark

you looked like
a drunken angel,
breathing heavily under
the sheets

i swore i heard rhythm
in your breaths
so i sang to it...
hoping you'd hear me.

you were my cupid,
was i ever your psyche?
 "there is no love
if there is no trust"

and i trusted you.

how can you be so beautiful tonight?
laying still, unaware of everything
except of that dream your having

you never shared your dreams with me.

I watch you drift off to
dreams in the bedroom
and the lamp light
was the only star
that made me see
your face in the dark

and all i wanted to do was
to cut you in your sleep,

maybe, just maybe
you would feel that.

A wierd twist to the story of cupid and psyche...either a literal or metaphysical cut, it was like an exotic expression...sad though, or maybe sadistic? anyway it was still a cool write

Perfectly tragic and maybe i`m twisted but the end made me smile.
