...

underneath dark skies and
starless night,
the sudden hush of wind,
the flickering of light

wounded streets and
shadow-dance
i hear the music,
i was lost in a trance

parking tickets
tiptoeing on the streets,
humid summer night
and empty car seats

slow-dancing post lights
that never seem to sway,
i was watching all of this
from not so far away

loneliness falls and
a tear on my cheek
was met with a raindrop
as thunder starts to speak

i may be alone,
drowning in misery
but when teardrops fall
the skies cry with me.

(this is not quite done yet... i wanted to add more but i can't think of anything at the moment)

Melancholy. That's the word that came to mind while I was reading. So beautiful. I felt like I was sitting on a park bench in nashville. Deaf to the noises, just watching everything.
