I know you
with closed eyes
tracing the path
to my beloved
country-land;
you are the sand
that spits up off ground
when my all-terrain
vehicle whips across
your surface.
You are the grasses,
trees and shrubbery,
in the lower division
of a retired pit, whose
mere sight sets joy
upon my face and
warmth in my heart.
You are the deer
and the lone wolf
I sometimes find.
Your presence
in my life
feels, still, like
Momentary Beauty;
I marvel at you
as if you were
something newly
discovered.
You are the air
whose fingers caress
my face, hands and arms--
crisp and refreshing.
You are the sun beaming down,
smiling as you watch me
in all my glory; you comfort
my worry-soul and
let it sing on high.
You are the Earth
that calls to me,
cradles me and lulls me
away from Hectic Reality.
You are the mrrrr
of an engine attached
to four wheels.
Every time I hear your voice
I feel a flicker inside.
You are the image of
a vision entitled “Mine”
resting upon my memory
in an area called “Home.”
