The little girl sits cold
in the center of the room
She was asked cold
to write a poem
by her friend
She was reminded cold
to make it good
by her friend
She was assured cold
it would occupy an hour
by her friend
But her mind wanders cold
to her friend
Asleep
on the bed.
Her friend is not cold.
