Simplicity
unique beauty flawless glory
she walks with the poise of an angel
hums to herself songs of old.
Head to floor books under arm
black mary janes bound to her feet
matching the dress that falls below the knees
fine cameo worn around neck
hair tied in a simple knot
writes poetry for only herself cares less to impress
admires the beauty of 15th - 16th century art
would wipe away every mothers tears using only her heart
feels all the pain from oppression of so many years
carries a smile hiding every scar and every fear
she feels the hatred of the world upon her shoulders
yet she wears it all to well
when her laughter fills the air she could brighten the dimmest of rooms
always ready for the next adventure to escape into
willing to give up everything to only a day dream
this is an old soul who drifts through life
wanting to save the world from all its sorrow and strife
when you see her have caution when you approach
for if roused from her many thoughts
her pleasant outer shell may shatter
facing the world with pain but so much more that intrigues beauty
forgive her for she is in middle of searching for her path
