I lay in a world of waking nightmare,
Thoughts of dark creatures invading my mind.
Suffocating the delicate flower trying to survive
Trying to survive within her own head.

The persona she painted to hide behind takes over
The strong heartless bitch crushes her
Rips the qualities that are hers out and leaves them lying on the ground
The velvet red petals forgotten about, slowly dying

Pain has caused her to loose herself
Sometimes she feels strong enough to fight back,
Only to be held in place by the mental chains she herself has placed
And be taunted by the being that had once been her protection

She knows that the being shall devour her.
She cannot survive without love she craves
Without the friendships to draw on, she is alone
Locked in a prison of her own creation.

A solitary tear slides down her cheek, and drops to the dusty floor
There it lies amongst the dying rose petals and blood soaked feathers,
Bruised and broken, she gives up, lets the monster take over
And disappears into nothingness, unsure she can ever find her way back

In that second, that everlasting moment of defeat, evil smiled
Thinking that he had forever won the poor girls body
That delicate flower returned however, hating what she had created
Remembering that while delicate she may be, she did have thorns.

The battle ragged in the girl’s mind, evil fighting for the hold it had
The body it had stolen and the mind it had over run
But no longer could she allow such a travesty
The battle ended and she was once more the victor

She lives now, queen of her domain, ruler of her own mind
She needs no evil protector; she need not hide from the world
She no longer craves the love she felt she could not live without
She is free from the torture she endured. She has fought her demons and won.
