Death circles you
As you walk from me into the darkness
Your body hunched
Bent and broken from my abuse

Your head hangs
It is weighted down by love you feel
For a beautiful girl
Who can never share your love

I fought to push you away
Is it working? Are you leaving?
Why did I push?
Was it to help you, or me?

Did I push to save you?
Keep your heart from being broken?
Or for me?
To keep my sanity in tact?

I was confused
I was scared and I drove you away
If id let you stay
We might have been happy.

We might have loved.
We might have spent glorious years together.
But I love another
So I pushed you away

Rather than embrace
The love you gave to me so freely
I pushed you away
And plunged us both into darkness

I’m sorry for that
Live and love again my darling
While I’m trapped
In a world of unending night
