Behind every corner you lurk.
Hidden to the naked eye,
Yet never far from sight.
Tormenting my already broken soul.

Why won’t you leave me alone?
Can’t you see I've been punished?
Without you around to hurt me more
Can’t you see me crying from the pain?

You can of coarse, you want me to suffer
To die of a million tiny cuts,
To be killed, healed and then murdered brutally again.
Payback for the pain I caused your open heart

I hate myself for it, but more so I hate you
You who have moved on and forgotten your love
You who treat what we had as if it were nothing
You who I still love more than life itself

Some people, like you, can fall in and out of love
Where as people like me fall in love once, and that’s it.
Without you my life is empty, no matter how much I try to run
To get over you and try again, it will never be right

But how can I run with you hiding nearby
Jumping out at me every time I think your gone
Forcing me to love you when you just forgot me
How could you forget me?

I held your head when you cried.
I was strong for you when you couldn’t be.
You said you loved me, only me, forever.
So who’s this new girl that you love?

Do you tell her that you’ll love her forever?
Do you whisper sweet nothings to her in the darkness?
Do you remember doing that with me?
Do you remember me at all or am I a shadow in your past?

Leave me alone! I can’t live without you but holding on hurts to much
At first I welcomed the pain because it kept me in contact to you
But now, I don’t want it. I don’t want to see you with her.
Each time I do it’s another slice in my flesh

I cant handle the punishment anymore, though maybe I deserve it
I may have betrayed you, but at least I remember you.
I don’t cheapen what we had by jumping to another
I remember, and I still love you, but I can’t do this.
Please leave me alone.

"Where as people like me fall in love once, and that's it" - crushing realism and desperate emotion captured through this; we're looking out for you.
