I found you there, in the garden
Sitting amongst the fallen leaves
Flower petals dancing around your head
I found you there, in a ray of sunshine,
Hair lit and alive,
Vibrant and brilliant,
Like the last dying embers of a fire,
Glowing in contrast to the hues of blue and green that surround it.
I found you there, hands moving gracefully.
Weaving the stems of dandelions,
Making necklaces and bracelets alike, smiling all the while
Your eyes alight like those of a newborn,
Full of wonder and amazement, of a new world ready to be explored.
I found you there, your back against the well.
I laid down next to you, in the soft grass,
looking up at you, at your smile, at your soul.
I found you there, and I found myself as well.
