“There never was enough in the world”, to satisfy your hunger
If I never gave you all that I had; why were we lovers
Fading graffiti on the walls in bathroom stalls, lasted a little longer
Swearing by “Saints and Sailors” and reliving how you wronged her

“Sycophant”s, that hit perhaps, one last chance to get it right
Raging hormones, “Vandal(s)”ism, both dance by firelight
I traded it all for a night of “Ecstasy”, and simple dreams
And found out nothing is ever as easy as it seems

“Canon Rock”, chaos walks in the form of art and décor
Bringing hollow bodied visions rising up through the floor
Simple phantoms of the opera in present situation
Feeding “Prayers of the Refugee”s to “Hatebreed”ing accusations

“Vindicated” syndication retracing every step I take
Like trees in a hurricane, (hurricane), I bend and often break
That’s my mistake; but I choose to wear my heart out on my sleeve
And this heart was torn apart at the sight of watching you leave

What can I say, nothing is reminiscent of the summers that have past
When you know you’re only human and you’re never gonna last
Life moves too fast, and watch it as the days turn into months and months to years
The smiles fade, and you’re left with only stains to remind you of your tears.

I had to read this twice to soak it in completely. I loved it with its stunning finishing line. It's dangerous to wear your heart on your sleeve, you know. But that's why we do it.

This was crazy... I love the last line the most though. Definately a fav.

Oh Brian, I swear you could have been writing for me about me. This is why I adore you.
