Already in the warfield, on the battlefield
Aiming with my M-16, shooting enemy infantry
Carefully covering myself, throwing a grenade it
'' GRENADE!!!''
I lower my head, while I reload my weapon
Waiting for the explosion...
--BOOM--
Running in as fast as I can, looking around me
Shooting, times to times, and taking cover in a building
''Fuck...''
So now there was the flash...
I wasn't in the Battlefield anymore
It was all white, wearing a tuxedo, I was walking around
Then I looked towards a shadow
A feminine scent, it was nothing but a shadow
A voice like no others, I couldn't trace it
A mass of void, talking, with a feminine smell
Simply watching, I don't budge, understanding already
I try to touch her extending shadowy arm
And I come back to reality, knocked down
Alarmed, I watch my surroundings as I stand up
''Gorp 1 to Bull 2, can you hear me?'' --Click--
''Gorp 1 to Bull 2, I can't find my team, where are you guys?'' --Click--
''Alright I get it... I'm a mouse trapped in a Cat's lair...''
I quickly move towards the door, equipping my goggles.
My weary eyes observe no activity, I start running towards the other end
Jumping and rolling to the wall of the building.
I hear some talking, I take out my Silenced Socom, and I quietly walk
At last in line of sight, I see them, but they can't see me.
I lift up the gun, and fire 2 pellets. Right in the head.
I walk up to the corpses...

This time again, I was out of this world, of my world
I see her, rather more precisely than last time
Her curves so well made... a seducing aura
I watch her with fear... She touches me...
Her unknown hands on my chest...

And I get slurped back in the reality, amongst fatality and brutality to its finest. I run towards the extraction point given in the radio
I keep on running, spotted by soldiers. Watching the tracing bullets
Lighting up my path, as I keep on running desperately
I catch up another grenade from my belt, and throw it off my shoulder
Another lovely explosion. I keep on running and jump into the chopper
Flying off to our base, out of this crisis.

I lay in the eternal whiteness, while I melt under her loving caresses
I know her name, I know who she is. She's the woman I've always desired to be with
Was I ever worth it for her ? I don't believe so, yet my love's greater than all
I watch her fine movements, and come to believe
My place is next to hers, along with my love and my soul.
She was the one I was living for, that made me live through this hell
She was my world, I'm coming back home.

--Boom--.

Has an in and out feel of reality and dream, in the moment satisfaction despite the deadly surroundings. A timeless echo of reverence caught by a scent.

This was so insightful and terrifying. I felt like I was right there in the battle scene and then the transition was heartbreaking. So saddening, yet a wonderful write. ~Angel
