Just, ferry my ass down the river Styx.
Fuck the pennies!,
Put two silver dollars in my eyes,
payment for all the baggage.

Then lay me in a cheap pine "costco" coffin.
Wearing my evening's best,
torn up jeans and a cartagan.
With a smile and a cigarette.

Let all the witnesses,
muse in wonderment.
He makes such a lovely corpse;
pity he didn't sooner think of it.

No crying!
No weeping!
No recalling, nor reminiscence.

Have a bad band,
play an slow tune; off-key.
Make a toast, tell bad jokes,
but no stories.
Then have a drink in remembrance.

Then send me to the far side of the river.
prop me up with paper and pen,
so I can tell you what i thought of death.
