I can feel it calling
Gentle pressure promising heaven
A fatalistic view of the world around me
Tainting me

I'm praying for something to set me free
Reality twists and I'm fading
I'm slipping away from myself

I thank whatever is taking me

Suffering for the sins of my father
I gave up my soul
The only cure for my ruptured heart

Feelings of love denied
I've fallen again for my pride
A pattern of humility I can't deceive

The blood an unexpected poison
That sought to give me life

I thought I had a little longer to work on my hate
I've been saving it just for you
Please give me a reason to want you again

I feel the sun break on my face
Mingling with the shadows of my disgrace

And I know this moment is not for me
I'm failing
Failing in my search for some peace

it works very well, fine construction and a trip into the void, expressed directly and with erudite but non pretentious expanse

this felt as if you were coming down from a high...those terrible lows that seem to shake apart the soul, leaving you feeling dirty and all used up...this had a desperate hollow feel to it..leaves me with a bitter sadness ~kristy
