Who could have guessed
Who could have known
That I'd get stuck here all alone

In deeper shadows I must hide
'Til the world can look into my eye

Understanding's just a step away
But it seems they're deaf to all I say

They cannot see
They cannot find
Their lives are forfeit, as is mine
