Nothing can replace the feeling
of fading walls and shades of grey.
We still move like broken creatures,
Still drown ourselves in pools of plaster.

Spread across this medical canvas,
A pill for you and me.
My dear it's getting hard to swallow,
Choking on inconsistencies.
Turpentine kisses
And hypocrisy.

I paint my lines so carefully,
Bloody tears and water colour.

Sometimes it's miles from you.
