I held my breath,
And took a running start.
Heart racing, mind too full for an organized thought.
And I took that blind leap.
I had almost made it,
My hand grasped at the ledge.
Almost there, only one more inch, one more second,
And I got shot down.
I fell back to earth,
And accepted the pain.
Tears welling in red eyes trying to hold back.
And I left you alone.

boy i have missed your work. almost there- a though and tinge of hope. which is then snatched up and away from you. and part of you fades away. until revived again.
