These fingers use to paint pictures with words
On scraps of torn lessons.
But now they only run along the edges of their art
They’re still willing
But their owner cannot think of words to paint with
Because black isn’t dark enough.
She’s been broken and her pen lies dormant.
And the fingers wait to be useful again.
