I love your laughter,
a smile caught in a dark bubble.
Rising heavily and with effort
from the thick pool of memories.
A harder thing, now.
Casting further and further
for that bright golden source.
It's slipping away,
sweet, soft feathers and a promise
of all that is better,
while we walk further into
the weeping future of
our brothers and sisters and selves.
