This write is based on vlad tepes (pronounced tse-pesh) In his time ruling Wallachia in the mid 15th century he was know to have killed, mainly by method of impaling, 40,000 to 100,000 people.
The word Tepes stands for ‘impaler’ and was so coined because of Vlads propensity to punish victims by impaling them on stakes and displaying them publicly. An army coming to invade his land actually turned away at the sight that lay before them in battle…thousands of people impaled on stakes and the smell unbearable….
It is believed the character of Dracula in Brams Stokers novel was based upon Vlad Tepes..
Swimming through a pool of disease, wretched bones and
Torn up flesh…
Lead me to my home place Transylvania,
the place of Vlad Tepes
Mercy has no meaning here,
as the dark night she calls,
The souls of the slaughtered…
the thieves, the cheats and the whores
Blood flows like water through this land in which I reign..
Heavily...with a smell of death, welcoming you..
The impaled.
