Dandelions are dandy
Lavender is lovely
But my heart belongs
To a rose so fair and red

Her scent is sweet and electric
Her sight is one of pleasure
Just to have her in the room
Is to make any day sunny

But her stem beholds thorns
Forbidding closeness
My heart belongs to a rose
But roses don’t have hearts
They’re only mindless flowers
They wilt and they rot

My rose makes me bleed
My rose makes me cry
My heart belongs to a rose
For this rose I would die
