Love is a flickering flame never to be tamed
Not to be caught or captured such is the rapture
Of love sent from above
Down from the vast heavens in sixes and sevens
Angels and demons from dreams and
Your nightmares; your frights, fears, and scares
Love is beside you it’s there to guide you
Truths and lies are like the stars in the sky
Love is a dancer, sadistic romancer
It spreads like cancer, a sick necromancer
A beauteous beast on your heart it will feast
Your eyes will grow dull as it crushes your skull
Ashes to ashes, small flames and dances
Love has no cure, innocent or impure
A madness that grows until nobody knows
The dusk from the dawn or a swine from a swan
It gouges with claws and it bites with its fangs
Embraces with jaws as it plays its cruel games
But love will not die if it is bold or it is shy
It will conquer and defeat you despite how it treats you
Love’s a hate you appreciate
You accept it and you live with it, you take and you give with it
Love is a power from which all things cower
Wield it and shield it, reveal and conceal it
Love is the deadliest weapon of all
It lowers defenses, weakens senses
Love is a friend and love is a fiend
Love is intimate and serpentine
Love’s in all of us, you and me
Love is to keep, I guarantee
