Would a life void of pleasure
Be void of pain
If there was no loss
Would there be gain

The world always balanced well
There is a heaven
And there is a hell
But what is left in-between

If one became naught
By answers they sought
Would the air thicken
Would your breath quicken

If there was no light
If there was no dark
If there was no night
If there was no spark

Would lovers collide
Would life be a ride
With no ups and downs
No smiles or frowns

If life was the same
If there were no games
Could you survive
Would you try to thrive

If there were no rules
Not one you could break
Would there be plans
And troubles to make

If you could live
Or if you would die
You take and you give
You laugh and you cry

But if there was no change
No normal or strange
Could you even exist
With this simple twist

I've often thought the same thing. I just never thought to make a poem about it.

I challenge you to use one continuous rhyming scheme throughout the whole piece. It seems you go from scheme to scheme based on which parts it sounds good in. Something to work on, maybe? As for the poem itself, beautiful wording. loved it.
