Things that lurk undercover
Like a whisper
In the dark

Your fears will just keep growing
Till they’re vicious
As a shark

You would proclaim
They call your name
A chant that’s heard beneath the grave

One day you’ll realize
Your life was full of lies
You lived and died a slave

You let the bright sun blind you
And the things that skulked behind you
Became the monsters from your nightmares

Kiss it all goodbye
And try not to cry
Don’t dare to ask why

Like a stuffed bear
Long forgotten
Its shadow grows when doors are closed

If you don’t scream
Awaken from a horrid dream
The precious morn will never come

Trapped in a haunting
Creatures are taunting
I know it’s daunting

Turn on the lights
Welcome the frights
They are what you make them to be
