We are eating tongues with serpent forks
Poisonous lies taste of vanilla liquor
Dysfunctional units of familiar friends
Love’s a cowardly dog beneath the table
Begging for scraps but it receives none
Yet we enjoy our feast in silence
Because we are eating our own tongues
