Sometime when the days are long
I’ll see you in wispy dreams
I’ll reach and they’ll float away
Just as you had done; sifting through my fingers
The soft clouds are beckoning
Should I listen and follow, like you had done
I’m sinking in the earth, deep in memories
Should I close my eyes and wish it all away
Sometimes I see your face smiling back at me
But it is just a dream and it will pass just as you had done
I wish it’d stay; I don’t want it to fade, just as you had done
I will glare into the sun
I would rather see your eyes
Feel the warmth of your touch
Than to realize you’re not there
It’s the wind and not your fingers through my hair
Time slips by like grains of sand
When I think of you; I am so lost in you
I’ll float away, too, and we’ll fly with the clouds
Kissing stars like lovers do, like we had done
Before you drifted from view
Now my life keeps me from you
