And when they laced the stitches through your veins
Did you scream out in pain
Did your eyes glaze over and your mind haze
Did you die peacefully

This sea of cerise
You’re not drowning in wine
Your life was fantastic
Now death has left you poor

How will you survive
Without jewels, servants
You worked very hard
At doing nothing

Think you’re Cinderella
With a backward story
But it will not end
Death is eternal

You want to escape
But you can’t come back
But you can watch them
Through icy mirrors on dreary days

Would you destroy all that surrounds you
And would you try to murder beauty
Because your face was marred
In a fire of angry passion

Would you apologize
And repent for your sins
Would you dare speak to Him
Because He knows all truth

Or will you scrub the golden streets
And the majestic gates
Wishing they would open
And free your restless soul

And your eyes would water
You wish you would wake up
Your tears would fall like rain
On towns that suffered drought

They’d gaze up at the skies
And wish that they were there
Screams resound like thunder
Fists beat down like lightning

“Your prayers are not answered!
Are you even list’ning?”
Of course they do not hear
So please give up, my sweet

Someday I might join you
But would it calm you then
Would you finally be at rest
To know you suffered less than I

And would you wait for me
Would you greet and welcome me
Partake in a dead embrace
And try our best to feel

Would you love me
And accept me
Would you push me down to hell
Just so that I could be warm

Do you think you’re always right
Do you think that God is wrong
Do you think that you should live
Immortal monstrosity

And I had tried to love you
A pitiful, mournful beast
You still think you’re in power
Resting on a throne of lies

But soon the skies will crumble
And you’ll find yourself with me
The angels would not rescue you
And I’ll abandon you with glee
