Lace your warm fingers
In between mine own
An elegant love
Butterfly kisses

Genial, delicate hearts
Digging up graves with marred spades
The souls beaten down with clubs
For stealing precious diamonds

But we’ll live without riches
A sublime simplicity
We’ll greet the faces in clouds
From our fair castles of sand

Don’t let us be washed away
With the ocean’s salty tears
Fighting king crabs to the death
With petite toothpick pitchforks

And we’ll run from the demons
And their ravenous smiles
In a forest of horrors
We’re all alone in the dark

We’ll have each other
To keep warm; protect
Lacing our fingers
Like intertwined hearts
