Terror in a midnight mask
Black stars for eyes
Crescent moon, turned into a wicked smile
The wind is his breath
The sounds of the night
Amount to one voice
You dread the laughter
Tremble in the dark

It will envelope your senses
The deafening noise of silence
All thoughts rendered incoherent
And your emotions are muddled
You squeeze your eyes shut
Feel the beads of sweat
Hot against your neck
But the wind is there, too; ice cold

Invisible fingers, rough caresses
You wish to evade
But it follows you
And not even death would be your escape
For would not mortality freeze your core?
Rot within the earth
And there it would be an eternal night
Horror to your mind
You run towards the light

Morning’s warmth but moments away
But even that might be too late
To save your sorry soul from fear
All memories that you hold dear
Would vanish from an empty mind
Your sniveling silenced
Limp, mangled body on the ground
But don’t ever give up hope
Day is your savior; go to it

Ah. nice and dark. No explicitly emotional bullshit. Just what I needed.
