Capacious doe eyes
Abyss of the dark
Shady innocence
But what lurks beneath

Razor sharp teeth
A gentle stare
Playing the fool
Reeling them in

How long until
This act crumbles
Under your feet
You’re not as charming as you think

I can see behind the mask
See the harpy, the demon
Take off the halo, changeling
Those laudable wings as well

You’re reluctant to depart with disguise
It was your escape
From truth, living lie
Crocodile tears, but I’m not a fish

You get what you give
You didn’t give much
Do you feel hollow
Not whole but a hole

But no one feels pity
You’re no longer the star
Find a new life to waste
The show is over now
