You’ve just spun a web
Of silvery thread
Lives like the puppets
Dangling heads

Feast upon prey
Sucking them dry
It’s how you live
How you survive

Hearken to screams
Soon growing faint
Bury their bones
In beds of blue roses

Flowers like skeletons
Petals are teeth
Hear the skulls’ laughter
Mirrors of freaks

You’d call them your friends
Pick them from the ground
Crush their hopes and dreams
Stab all of their backs

But isn’t it true
That you’re just a beast
You’re all alone
Veiled by a web

Sleep on a bed
Sewed from silver thread
By the light of the moon
And the dew like the stars

And now you can’t move
Forsaken volition
See how it feels
To be just a meal

No one will hear
Your cries of dedition
Feel the life leave you
Empty heart; empty mind; empty eyes

Could any one think of a synonym for beast? It kind of needs to be one syllable and I'm stuck.
