I watched him silently
With sullen eyes
As he stood there solemnly and with ease
Like in a dream
The sun was streaming in through the window
The bright line being interrupted only by his shoulders and neck
He glanced sideways at me
A light half crazed grin touching the corner of his lips
Causing a sparkle to appear in his blue eyes
My breath caught in my throat
As my heart skipped a beat
I didn't have to look to know he held a knife in his hands
He mouthed the words 'I love you'
Before he faced forward again
Without a second's hesitation
He plunged the knife into his heart
Without fear, smooth and precise
Warm tears streamed down my face unnoticed
As he sank to his knees gracefully
I didn't want to watch any longer
My heart falling to pieces
At the sight before me
But I continued to watch helplessly terrified
He still held the knife to his chest
But no blood stained his hands or shirt
His breathing slowed steadily
And his pained eyes closed slowly
(His loving blue eyes were the only sign of pain)
And my tears continued to fall
Down my wet, flushed cheeks
Falling forever for the one I love
