I am a broken angel
My wings beat and battered
I never could fly
My soul torn from my own traps
I never was happy
The love I tried to give
Was poisoned and stale
Bringing everyone else down around me
Their pain is my pain
But their happiness is my envy
I am sorry for what I did
I always tried to be pure
But somehow failed to do so
I prey to you now, God
Though I know you're not there
You never were there
I'm asking for help from you
To release my soul from your grasp
Impossible
You hate me for my defiance
Though you're not there
And I am a broken angel

I am a broken angel
My halo dented and cracked
I always hated that thing
You expect me to be good
You expect me to be perfect
But how can I live
To those standards you put on me
Tear away my flesh
And leave my bleeding bones
But remember this:
I really am truly sorry
For what I did to you
And what I'm about to do
So let my body descend to hell
To meet the one they call Satan
And love my memory
For that is all you'll have left
Cry for me if you must
Always
You always were the crying type
But this should not surprise you
You knew I was a broken angel
