I’ve seen the flowers fight to touch the sun.

Much like Icarus
But with a better outcome.

I’ve seen the stars shoot across the sky
In search of a better position
In the landscape of night.

Much like me
And my place in your life.

But I’ve never seen
An angel struggle so hard to leave heaven
For a chance to be on earth

A place known for the ache it inflicts
On the already burdened hearts of man.

You’re hurt,
I can hear it in your voice
And I noticed it in your face.

Yet,
You still stay here
In this less than stellar place,
When there is so much more waiting for you.

Darling,
For all the hurt you’ve gone through…

I’ll clean your wounds tonight.

"But I've never seen an angel struggle so hard to leave heaven..." Oh wow...to give up the the beauty of acceptance for something that might lead to pain and rejection in the end...this is excellent, the imagery flittering across my eyelids. ~*Beth*~
